Bill Huemmer - A Successful Career in Mortgage Lending
Based in Sun Prairie, Wisconsin, Bill Huemmer is a retired mortgage lender who helped clients navigate the mortgage process for 40 years. He started in 1985, working with various Wisconsin financial institutions before retiring in 2025. In 30 of those years, Bill Huemmer was the top producing loan officer in Wisconsin, leading in both number of loans and volume.
Bill Huemmer started his career at AnchorBank, where he worked as a mortgage officer for over 28 years. He later held loan officer positions at Shelter Mortgage, Wisconsin Bank and Trust, and finally Old National Bank, where he worked until retirement.
Across those roles, Mr. Huemmer focused on originating residential loans and helping clients to become homeowners. He developed a reputation for good communication and steady guidance, particularly with clients purchasing their first homes. Colleagues often relied on him for insights on loan programs. At Old National Bank, he also supported leadership by helping train new loan officers and maintaining a strong partnership with his assistant for more than six years.
In his free time, Mr. Huemmer served as charter president of the Optimist Club in Monona, Wisconsin. He holds an associate degree in accounting from Madison Area Technical College. He stays active by lifting weights and playing sports with his son.
